Bird Nests

Different types of birds build nests in different shapes & sizes, from simple shallow scrapes to cups to elaborate hanging pouches.  Today, Lara Askill, Agriculture Education/Farm Manager, shares 3 cup nests found at Chrisholm MetroPark's Historic Farmstead each built by a different native species.  What's different about an American Robin's nest, the nest of an Eastern Phoebe and that of Barn Swallows?  Watch the video to find out!

See if you can then identify nests found in the parks and your own backyard.  Remember to look and observe without touching or disturbing the nests.

Come back tomorrow to learn about the Eastern-eyed Click Beetle.
