Grants & Plants
In many of the MetroParks locations across the park system, natural areas don’t automatically exist within the park. Often, properties require some help to restore the site to one that includes native wildflowers and prairies grasses. In these sites, restoration work is undertaken to remove invasive species and replace them with new native plant species that support the habitats for pollinators, butterflies, birds and other wildlife. Many times this restoration work is funded by outside dollars through grants. This video titled Grants and Plants shows just two of the many locations where grants have funded native planting to support habitats and create beautiful spaces for people to enjoy nature!
We offer a periodic newsletter with information about upcoming events and programs.
