Closure Notice - Green Heron Area of Forest Run MetroPark

Based on the authority contained in Section 1545.09 20c of the Rules and Regulations of the MetroParks, in an effort to enhance public safety, protect park resources, and maintain good order, the entirety of the MetroParks property known as Green Heron Area of Forest Run MetroPark, 2161 New London Road, Butler County, Ohio, is closed effective February 21, 2020, and shall remain closed to those not exempt as defined below until further notice. See attached map detailing the location of the closed area. 

MetroParks Operations and Ranger staff, employees of Butler County, and others who are under the immediate supervision of the preceding, all of whom are acting in pursuit of their official duties are exempt from the closure order and may be present within the closed area. Additionally, volunteers performing specific duties authorized and approved by the MetroParks' Executive or Deputy Director are also exempt and may be present within the closed area.

Finally, those supervised by and acting on the instructions of the preceding are exempt from the Closure Order and may be present within the closed area.

  • Great Miami River Trail Construction to Begin – Timberhill Area of Rentschler Forest MetroPark and Unpaved Portion of Great Miami River Trail to Close

    Starting August 16, 2021, the Timberhill Area of Rentschler Forest MetroPark and the unpaved portion of the Great Miami River Trail (GMRT) connecting Timberhill to Reigart Road will close for construction of the Great Miami River Trail Extension project. The closure is expected to last until June 2022.

  • Gilmore MetroPark Closures - Beginning July 26, 2021

    The Gilmore Road Entrance to Gilmore MetroPark will be closed July 26, 2021 through October 29, 2021. The southwestern portion of Gilmore MetroPark will also be closed July 26, 2021 until Fall of 2022. These closures are for the City of Hamilton Utility Relocation and Miami 2 Miami Trail Projects.
