Section of the Great Miami River Trail Closed - Updated 7/16/2021

The Great Miami River Trail in Middletown remains closed between Barnitz Park and the River Center for sewer work.  The City of Middletown has suggested the following detour:  Northbound traffic should exit the trail at Barnitz Park, turn left on Main Street, then left on Second Avenue, and rejoin the trail at the River Center.  Southbound traffic should exit the trail at the River Center, turn right on Second Avenue, then right on Main Street, and rejoin the trail across from Barnitz Park.  Thank you for your patience and understanding!

  • Great Miami River Trail Construction to Begin – Timberhill Area of Rentschler Forest MetroPark and Unpaved Portion of Great Miami River Trail to Close

    Starting August 16, 2021, the Timberhill Area of Rentschler Forest MetroPark and the unpaved portion of the Great Miami River Trail (GMRT) connecting Timberhill to Reigart Road will close for construction of the Great Miami River Trail Extension project. The closure is expected to last until June 2022.

  • Gilmore MetroPark Closures - Beginning July 26, 2021

    The Gilmore Road Entrance to Gilmore MetroPark will be closed July 26, 2021 through October 29, 2021. The southwestern portion of Gilmore MetroPark will also be closed July 26, 2021 until Fall of 2022. These closures are for the City of Hamilton Utility Relocation and Miami 2 Miami Trail Projects.
