MetroParks Enhances Accessibility and Safety at Multiple Park Locations
MetroParks of Butler County is proud to announce the installation of a new, height-adjustable, age-inclusive universal changing table at the Voice of America MetroPark Athletic Complex, a step forward in making the park system more accessible for people of all ages and abilities.
The changing table is located in the family restroom at the Voice of America MetroPark Athletic Complex and will be available during tournaments and special events. This addition reflects MetroParks’ ongoing commitment to creating welcoming and supportive spaces where all visitors can access the facilities they need to enjoy their time in the parks.
“We want every guest to feel that they belong here,” said Zeb Acuff, MetroParks of Butler County’s Director of Planning. “Adding a universal changing table is part of our broader mission to ensure that our parks serve the needs of the entire community.”
In addition to the accessibility upgrade, MetroParks has also installed new Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) at several high-traffic locations:
- The Voice of America MetroPark Athletic Complex
- Timberhill MetroPark
- The Line Hill Mound MetroPark athletic fields
- The Rentschler Forest MetroPark athletic fields
These life-saving devices are essential for rapid response to cardiac emergencies and are now more widely available across the park system. “Having AEDs readily available could be the difference between life and death in a cardiac emergency,” said Scott Reeve, MetroParks of Butler County’s Chief of Police.
MetroParks continues to prioritize both accessibility and safety as essential components of its mission to connect people to nature and to one another through conservation, education and recreation.
