MetroParks of Butler County Announces 2026 Community Grant Program Awardees

MetroParks of Butler County is proud to announce the recipients of its 2026 Community Grant Program, providing five local organizations with grant awards aimed at enhancing public access to parks and outdoor recreational spaces in Butler County. Each recipient received up to $5,000 to support projects that provide permanent improvements to outdoor recreational facilities, in alignment with MetroParks’ goals to expand park access and engagement.

“Our Community Grant Program continues to foster meaningful improvements in outdoor spaces across Butler County,” said Jackie O’Connell, Executive Director of MetroParks of Butler County. “Congratulations to our 2026 awardees—each of these organizations is making vital contributions to our community’s outdoor amenities, improving quality of life for all residents.”

2026 Grant Recipients:

  • City of Oxford Parks & Recreation – $5,000 for baseball field netting replacement at TRI Community Park
  • Fairfield Township – $5,000 for outdoor seating improvements at Hero’s Park
  • Madison Township – $5,000 for new benches along the paved walking paths at Madison Township Community Park
  • Morgan Township – $4,620 for picnic tables and benches at Morgan Township Community Park
  • Ross Township – $4,760 for park gate replacement and playground mulching at Venice Gardens Park

About the Program: 

MetroParks’ Community Grant Program was established in 2024 through a generous anonymous estate gift. The program supports outdoor recreation initiatives by Butler County non-profits and political subdivisions. The application period for the 2027 program will open in the spring of next year. Organizations interested in applying are encouraged to monitor MetroParks’ website and social media for updates.

  • Portions of GMRT Closed

  • Sycamore Grove Trail

    The Sycamore Grove Trail at Governor Bebb MetroParks has reopened to the public. The trail is non-ADA accessible until gravel replacement work can be completed.

  • MetroParks Cashless Beginning 1/1/26

    MetroParks is keeping it cashless beginning 1/1/26. Credit and debit cards are welcome at MetroParks' Administrative Office and Voice of America MetroPark Welcome Center. Cash will still be accepted for on-site program registration.
