MetroParks of Butler County Executive Director Jackie O'Connell Appointed to Nationwide Parks Leadership Board

MetroParks of Butler County proudly announces that Executive Director Jackie O’Connell has been appointed to the Board of Directors for the National Association of County Park and Recreation Officials (NACPRO). O’Connell is one of several new board members named to serve a two-year term from 2025 to 2027.

NACPRO is a professional organization that represents county and regional park and recreation professionals and agencies across the country. The organization supports park systems through leadership development, policy advocacy and national recognition of best practices that strengthen community well-being and environmental stewardship.

O’Connell’s appointment is a testament to her decades of leadership in public service and her commitment to the conservation, education, and recreation mission of MetroParks of Butler County. Under her leadership, MetroParks has expanded access to natural spaces, strengthened community partnerships, and enhanced outdoor opportunities for residents and visitors alike.

“I’m honored to join the NACPRO Board and represent Butler County on a national level,” said O’Connell. “This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with peers across the country and share what makes our parks system so special.”
