• Nature in a Blink: Woodcock Wooing

  Experience Nature in a Blink, a year-long series in which MetroParks offers opportunities throughout the year to appreciate fleeting natural occurrences. Love is in the air! Enjoy the sights and sounds of the mating display of the American Woodcock during this crepuscular (early evening) hike. Whether you call it a timberdoodle or a bog sucker, learn about the mysterious lifestyle of this shorebird. Plan to hike over uneven and muddy terrain, and dress appropriately for the weather.

• Rooted Living: Sourdough for Beginners

  March 14, 2026 2:00pm - 3:00pm

  This introductory class covers the fundamentals of sourdough bread making. Participants will learn how to feed and maintain a sourdough starter, understand the fermentation process, and practice basic techniques for mixing, shaping, and baking. The class is designed for those with little to no experience and aims to provide a solid foundation for baking sourdough at home. Ages 13+ (children under 18 must be accompanied by a paid adult).

• Learn to Make Carrot Cake

  March 21, 2026 1:00pm - 2:30pm

  Friends of Chrisholm's Carmon Hacker will demonstrate how she makes carrot cake from scratch using her family's special recipe. Following the demonstration, you will assemble the dry ingredients and take the mix home to add the rest of the ingredients and bake your own cake! Ages 13+ (children under 18 must be accompanied by a paid adult)

  THIS REGISTRATION IS FOR THE 7:40 PM EGG HUNT TIMESLOT AT TIMBERMAN RIDGE METROPARK ONLY. THIS TIMESLOT IS FULL. RETURN TO PROGRAM LIST FOR OTHER TIMESLOT OPTIONS. Bring your own flashlight and we'll take care of the eggs. Register for your desired start time to access our eggs-clusive egg hunt. Eggs-perts who find enough eggs can trade them in for a treat. Egg hunts start every 20 minutes. You are currently registering for the 7:40 PM timeslot. Need more eggs-citement? Visit with animal ambassadors to learn about eggs in nature or head out on the trail to spot even more eggs-quisite eggs. These activities will be open from 7:30 PM - 9:15 PM, so you can plan time for them before or after your egg hunt. OTHER TIMESLOT OPTIONS CAN BE REACHED FROM THE PUBLIC PROGRAMS PAGE.
