Celebrate Butler County's Agricultural Roots at MetroParks of Butler County's "Fun on the Farm"
MetroParks of Butler County and the Friends of Chrisholm invites families to step back in time and enjoy a day of hands-on farm fun at Fun on the Farm, held Saturday, August 23 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Chrisholm MetroPark.
This annual celebration of Butler County’s rich agricultural history blends education, exploration, and entertainment on the historic grounds of the Augspurger House. Guests can take a guided tour of the Amish-Mennonite farmhouse with the Friends of Chrisholm and meet live farm animals—including some of MetroParks’ own feathered and furry ambassadors.
The event features a wide range of demonstrations from local experts, including blacksmithing, beekeeping, fiber spinning and weaving, composting, grain shelling, and more. Curious about raising chickens or harvesting honey? Visitors will have the opportunity to learn traditional and sustainable farming practices directly from local experts.
Wagon rides, corn kernel slingshots, farm-themed games, and a produce toss promise fun for all ages. With food trucks and agricultural vendors on-site, families can plan to spend the whole day enjoying Chrisholm MetroPark.
Admission is $5/person, children ages two and under are FREE. Click here for more information.
